Default Centre console

Afternoon all, after a little bit of prodding it does indeed seem that the alarm LED on the centre console has dropped down (you can't see it now unless you;re looking right over it).

I'm going to try and sort it out over the weekend, but dow anyone know if the plastic console just 'pulls off'? I thought I better check before I start, er, yanking away in my car and have things come off in my hands

I'm hoping that if it does come off I can just push the LED back up again.

happen to mine... the plastic cover that the LED fit thru does come off quite easy. From there you should be able to grab the LED and attached wires and sort it!

Otherwise...

Do you mean the plastic surround (10mm cirular bit) or the whole plastic centre console?

just the circular bit... that pops out of the console and give pretty good access to the wiring down below.

Its simple

Run your fingers around the edge of the entire console and it will all pop up. It gives you access to everything at the foot of the handbrake and gear lever

LloydO, your cables can run down the side of the centre tunnel, that's where the other wiring is. Just pop off the clips on the underneath and lift carpet/vinyl (depending on MY) up.

I think there's a guide in the faq although I maybe wrong

Very easy job. As Shipley said above, just run your fingers under the edge and unpop the plugs. They need a good firm yank to get them out, so don't be shy.
