Post Centre of Gravity Another Question

I have finally convinced the wife her car needs to be treated to a Centre of Gravity Geo tune-up.

We are hopefully going down there in 4 weeks, just waiting for Jayne to get back and confirm the dates.

I just wanted to ask, its there anything else I should get them to check or anything you can recommend we have dont to the car whilest we are down there.

We are on a limited budget but want the car to be as safe as possible. Handelling is our main priority, we are not intrested in any more preformance before the handelling is 100% spot on.

It would help if you altered your avatar to show your car details...

CG will answer any questions you have and advise options to fit your budget.

Be warned if you have an older car is is likely you may encounter problems with seized bushes, however, to drive the car as it was intended correction is an essential measure.

Her car is a 2001 S2000 with 90k miles.

I am guessing there will be seized bushes and bolts, these will need doing so im going to pay whatever the cost...... what do you think this would cost?

I would then be willing to pay 1-200 more for other work that would make it handle even better.

Although I'm waving Chris/Jayne's flag at the moment, I'm not their agent and shouldn't be advising on their pricing

You/your Mrs will have to speak to them to explain exactly what you want from the car, in order that it can be set up to suit YOUR needs. Any additional bracing can be recommended with that in mind (but usually cost around

Seized bushes are not only hard, but expensive to fix. Speak to Chris directly he'll help you with estimates on the what if scenario

I guess what i wanted to know really is was additional work would be worth having done.

I am hoping fingers crossed to be able to get all the Geo sorted, if it needs sorting it needs sorting.

What I want to know is, is it worth paying extra for rear anti roll bars etc... for the type of driving my wife does, She is mainly a motorway/county lane driver 50/50 and likes to cain it every now and again.

Don't be over cautious MY2001 was done about 6 weeks ago and we found only 1 partial seized bolt (in that it turns and was adjusted to the correct setting but it's forced against the bush trying to return to the seized position)

I have soaked the bushes every now and again, would recommend you get under the car and soak, and I do mean soak the bushes with Duck Oil or WD 40, every day until you go down, it will help both the adjustments and your wallet. Chris will not rip you off, he'll talk the back end off of any donkey you might take with you (so please for the sake of the donkey, leave it at home) but not rip you off.

Once you've been CG'd then make your mind up if you need anything else changed the geo will change the car and remove some of the unsettled handling you may think you need addressing.

Penny recons we've never driven that fast around the B roads in France and she's never felt as safe?

Don't get rear only anti-roll bars.

The geometry will make a big difference by itself. Just start there.

Definitely go soak the bolts in PlusGas or similar as it may make the difference. Mine's a 99 and wasn't seized at all, so don't panic yet.

After taking the advice of many of you, I took my 07 S to CG last Friday for suspension stripdown, lubrication and geo-set up.

Chris is a top guy, eager to explain what he is doing and why he is doing it. Very enthusiastic. I do 20% motorway, 80% A/B roads and Chris set my car up accordingly.

The results are really impressive. The car feels so much more nimble and gives so much more confidence in corners. An added factor may of course be the test drive Chris took me on. The roads were soaking wet, and the speed at which Chris took the bends just confirms to me what a fanastic car the S is when driven properly !!!!
