Top tip: Pay attention when driving on greasy roads. Usual route to work, a little complacent and suddenly I'm overtaken by my own rear wheels.

Got away with it this time.

Been driving rwd cars most of my life, done drift days a plenty etc but this time I simply got caught out.

Ice? Diesel on the road? I don't think so, just a lapse in concentration on a frosty morning.

Doh!!

Found myself drifting round corners the other day going through a scenic route to work. Same as you, wasn't focused on all the conditions of the road that morning!

Here's to Lady luck!

Put the roof down - it'll wake you TF up!

They can be a tad twitchy when the tyres are cold.

Mind you, I drove an Iveco Cargo a few years back and unladen, it was very similar when the tyres were cold. Balancing it through corners at under 40 MPH!

My old Elise used to change ends so fast it made your eyes water. Short wheelbase + engine behind your shoulders + light weight = interesting winter.

The S is a lot more progressive (usually) but today my guard was down.

Glad your OK mate, its all about warming the tyres which is hard to do in these conditions.

My advice, dont push until touve been driving constantley for 20 mins (stop start stuff wont count)

This is funny, when speaking to the man from Mole Valley TVR when I bought my car he said the S is a very stable car compared to many other RWD's he's driven.

It's all just what you compare it with!

I wasn't doing any kind of sprited driving, which is probably why I wasn't paying as much attention as I should have been. Not being harsh with the loud pedal, nothing out of the ordinary.

But at the end of the day, it must have been too fast for the conditions at that moment in time/place.

From now on, I think I'll have that second cup of coffee in the morning and wake up a bit more before jumping in and not just adopt the route to work autopilot approach.
