Default Cheap intake mod

This blocks the hot air coming up from under the intake and insulates it from the radiator heat.

Free mod, I used some silver pipe insulation that I found in the garage

It would be more effective if you covered the exposed part of the radiator just infront of the intake too.

Ok, I'll set myself up for a kicking

Stage 2
I added a piece of insulation over the radiator and covered the whole thing with gaffa tape

Stage 3
Got carried away and made myself a fully insulated cold air intake - Blue Peter style. Fits flush to the bonnet and is insulated sides and bottom.

Ok, start kicking

Nice work

Although you could make it even better if you had bought some reflective insulating tape.

not impressed with this.

why pay all that money for an S2000 then skimp when it comes to doing a common mod for it.

i mean i respect you wanting to get you hands dirty and do something yourself etc but for fecks sake just put your hand in your pocket and spend a bit of cash on a spoon or muz intake which will work way better than your paper-mache efforts posted above.

just my 2p worth

Don't forget Spoon don't do one for the 04/05 and the Muz one has been discontinued because it never fitted properly.!

In principle this is a good idea and IIRC the ASM Race cars use something similar.

A design using sheet metal and reflective foil would work well

Good skills - I love it when people get creative.

I'm surprised no-one has made a home made CAI - I mean lets face it all they are is some formed tube with a K&N on the end!!

How hard can it be to make that - especially when you can get the filter for
