Lightweight cast wheels I assume (despite the brand name)?

Yup - the large crystalline metallurgy gives that away.

Best 'comment' was:

Why not a set of Enkei's, Advan's, or Rays? Who the fuck is Forgestar?

Oh I'm glad you said that because I asumed they were forged going by the name lol..so is this what we can expect from cast wheels that are driven hard on a track car?

Not if they're engineered properly and mfr'd consistently.

I don't think anyone's fatigued an OEM (Enkei) cast one. Which is why they are heavy.

If you want lightweight, they need to be forged. Like the OEM BBS ones.

It's quite simple, really. And possibly why the likes of Rota cannot get close to the correct offsets, as it increases the loading.

Riding the kerbs like he had done earlier in the video wouldn't have helped.

The grain pattern at the break suggests a casting to me. But I've not worked in a forging shop (my dad's drop forge) for a loooooooooooog time!

Fox News had a link to the runaway wheel this on their front page this morning.

The forgestar sight says they are cast and then f@#ked about with.

I've seen this on Rotas too. Nothing else. I'm fairly sure what that suggests.
