Default Checked your Throttle Cable recently?

I have been working my way through the FAQ and carrying out a lot of the recomended work suggested within. The last thing I checked was the tension of the throttle cable, blimey it had about an inch of play in it! 2 minutes spannering later and it was adjusted to the suggested 1/4 inch and what a difference. Gear changes are smoother and the idle seems much steadier.

This is a classic example of one of those jobs that get overlooked and I only wish I had checked it earlier. Or is it just me that has been lazy?

The throttle cable adjustment should not be effecting your idle. If it is then you may have taken too much slack out.

Correct, unless it's too tight, as you say.

Most common is that it's slack.

It affects response when you pull away.

Main Faq at the top.

Do a text search on the page for Throttle.
It's about the 7th or 8th time it's used, and there's a link next to it to a page on the US part of the site where someone explains how to do it.

The pictures don't display for me, but that could be because of the office firewall.
