Checker plate
Where do you get metal or plastic checker plate from, wanting to stick some down in the garage and not having much luck in tracking some down. Tried the normal DIY places to no avail.

probably get it from Magnet or MFI but at a silly price
An ex used to work for British Steel (or Corus as it is now) and would always point that stuff out whenever she saw it on steps or whatever - she gave it a different name to Checker Plate though, can't remember what it was.
Anyway, it got quite disturbing

I've never quite understood the concept of using that stuff for flooring.
The ribbing may well give a higher level of grip, but the metal surface is low friction.

Think twice. Anything the seals the garge floor means that if you come back and park up on a wet day all of the water that drains off of the car has nowhere to go. (Usually it soaks into the concrete)I once made the mistake of painting a garage floor and was forever brushing the water out of the garage.
