Default Chris's Supercharger Thread

Episode 1 - Along time ago in a galaxy far far away...

That's how it feels for me when I look back and when initially decided to supercharge my S. I remember at the time of the Comptech group buy thinking I should give it a miss and watch to see how others on the forum get on with their kits, to let the early adopters work through the issues of FI in the UK S2000. And what a great success the majority of owners have had! Particularly Ben's enthusiasm of the subject was infectious, following hours of MSN debates (with Ben being extremely patient with me!) of injectors, gauges and various pulleys I took the plunge and bought a Vortech Supercharger kit.

Now my Vortech kit you could say is rather (in)famous and has led a fairly eventful life. I bought it from SimonPrelude, who actually had owned it twice. In between times it was the star of the famous Dark Blue Mark's supercharging thread, quite possibly one of the most useful threads on the subject on S2ki. Mark however lost patience with it (and i now know why) and removed it, selling back to Simon and then on to me.

Episode 2 - The internet for dummies

For a couple on months i didn't really sleep, i attempted to read every single word ever written on the internet about supercharging the S2000. I found out that quite a high proportion of those words are utter bollocks. I'm quite a naive and trusting person, in some ways i think that

Good read. I look forward to updates buddy. One quick question, why wouldn't the guy in Scotland tune it?

The best explanation I can give for that is he was having some personal issues and the time frame involved made it impossible to do the work.

Ok he was a drunken idiot who used my car as a run about for two weeks and didn't so much as check the oil, screwed up another member of this forums S2000 engine and generally was full of crap. All of these things I put down to personal issues.

That will be me firmly off the fence then.

Were the seals good on the blower, didn't Mark blow them out?

Crispy is mase just giving you a road tune or have you got some dyno time booked in?

It will be worth all the troubles when your boosting like a nutta.

Yeah Mark fixed them, he used superglue apparently

I think there will be dyno time too, so hopefully I will have some nice graphs to post up. I'm aiming for 350whp...

Mase got back to me there to tell me to get the Sard off!
