I thought it interesting that they mentioned the S2000 again last night....it's almost as if the test is turing into a 'grudge' match between Hammond and May and JC

I've requested a re-run along the lines of giving JC a chance to hit back...but also to see his face if after all he's said about the S2000 winning in the dry the S2000 was to lose out on a dry track

It's got to come across as entertainment value...not some S2000 anoraks wanting to chalk up a notch

Ian - I stand corrected. My apologies.

Zero - as an entertainment factor

I'm sure I've seen Hammond reviewing the S in a previous life on another program a couple of years back. If memory serves, he only had good things to say - it was one of the things that first brought the S to my attention.

Does anyone else remember this? It would be interesting to see if there was a related web site for whatever program it was and to see if there are any more positive comments attributed to him. We could always pass the ammo to Jezza

He was - in his programme they took a member of the public and tried to find them the best car for their budget.
In the episode featuring the S2000, he tried to pursuade the punter to go for a Boxster by getting him to test drive the Boxster S even though he could only afford the basic model !

He was rather scathing about the S2000 (except the enigine) claiming Honda were only trying to produce a "budget Boxster".

I thought he was a bit of a plank.

I just watched the video - didn't see the show when it was on last week.

Excellect report - loved the bit when JC was on top of the hill shouting down to the 2 chaps with their BM Z4 and Porker "You've got the wrong car.....you've got the wrong car" !!!!! .

I totally agree with the wet/dry timed lap - if it were dry, the S would have won easily.

Nice one

I have a better idea. Bring Dogbiscuit back to England, let him do the test track. He overtook me on SM2 and I thought my car was in reverse. Oh, and let Mark B follow him......

I was new to it then tho.....

Just been reading in the Z4 Forums, and they made the same comment as we have... if the Z had been running on proper tyres.... Z4's come with run flat tyres which are notoriously crap in the rain.

I think that TG should do a dry rematch with the Z4 Vs S2000, I think it would be very close and a fantastic race, it would be awesome to watch!

It was also quite funny to read that Z4 owners think the Boxster is too common , just wait until next year
