Default Clean car!

Like all good women, every now and again your car will need a damn good waxing!

And after a couple of trips to my garage for servicing/clutch/wheels/wheel alignment the fingerprints have got too much to bear....time for a good clean....

I was wondering round Halfords, and saw that they sell a random orbital car polisher for 40quid....So I thought i'd give it a go..

And joy of joys it works! I comes with two covers for the head, a soft cloth type one for "wax on" and a buffing cloth for "wax off" It really did a good job..

Two coats of Autogly Super resin polish, and a coat of extra gloss protection in record time...(about 90 mins!)

Both the heads are really soft and dont damage the paint in any way at all. In fact they are almost too soft, as in a couple of places it didn't quite get off the resin polish, but a quick buff with a hand polishing cloth soon sorted that out.

So, top buy, I'd reccomend one for anyone who likes a clean car, but dosn't have hours to spend doing it...

Would a Black&Decker sander with a old t-shirt on the bottom do the job?

In your case Keith I'm sure it would enhance the look of your car!

Almost certainly - indeed, I think the old t-shirt is probably 'over-egging' the solution....................

My B&D sander has got a spongey type base, so I think you're right, I'll wear the t-shirt to Alton Towers on Friday.

Argos used to do one, and a bit cheaper if I remember correctly.

If their website was not so shite I would be able to tell you if they still do them.

Halfords also do one for 15.00 which plugs in to the power outlet in the cabin..but it's not random orbital, so I decided to give it a miss.

Is the 'random orbital' another name for the M25, where you are stalled in a queue long enough to use a polisher?

... And the "random" bit comes from the speed limits they set on the '25 so that they can lie in wait and bag your cash !!
