Default Clifford 500 or 600

Does anyone know where to buy one WITHOUT having it installed?
I like to be able to purchase the system and give it to my garage to have it installed - I do not mind if I don't get a certificate with it; it's just that I trust the garage I use and I am not too keen on the idea to leave the S with strangers.

Call me paranoid!

Dolf.

Is that such a good idea Dolf? I don't think the 500 is Thatcham approved whereas the 600 is. But you do know that they come with a lifetime warranty only if installed by a Clifford approved installer - I recently buggered both my remote controls (don't ask) and got them both replaced without any further a do!

I also had my reservations about leaving the car with strangers but I noted the mileage and reset one of the trip meters! Got it back and the car was fine - apart from a few programming niggles with the alarm itself.

If you do a search for the alarms on the web - there are several places where you can buy the alarm itself - I think the 600 costs about

You are right to have these fears, if you can get someone you trust to fit the alarm officially then I would...

Often - does your driver's side one touch operation work as before? Mine goes down fine with a click and then when I click it to go up - it rolls up and then come back down half way! Strange but funny! Prestige said that the s2000 relays are very difficult to tap into as they are withing the window roll up motors.

Anyway, how does yours work?

Ahhh, I noticed this strange effect.

If you try the one touch operation lightly (without click) then the windows behave. If however I click the window controls then a half open window will close fully and then open to the same point as it was originally.

To be honest, if the alarm dealers say a Clifford 600 (or whatever) can be fitted to an S2000 then it should all work as expected, without exceptions (relay problems or otherwise).

Quite bizarre I think! I had a discussion with the guys at Prestige about this and they said that they had contacted Clifford and Honda and there was no way around it. They said that it sometimes works fine and other times goes a bit mental!

Mine does the same, Alarm people said it was a Honda problem, Honda said it was an Alarm problem... looks like the 2 just aren't compatable

Anyone know of a fix for it?

Guys - I even went as far as downloading the installation manuals from the US site and gave them to Prestige - but for our windows to function correctly as before the all up function needs to be wired before the relays which are connected to the motors - however on the S2000 the window relays are inside the motor (that's what Prestige told me) and the only way to tap into it is to open the motor and solder the wires before the relays mechanism! No way would I let them do that! Anyway, my car is going back to them for the third time to tweak the settings!

When I did get the car back - the one touch window function was not working at all - then after ten minutes it was functioning perfectly and then after an hour it started going up then back half way down again! Phone Prestige and they said it is an intermittent "problem"!

I just tell my mates it's a function I had programmed! They are quite amazed!!!!!!
