Default Clutch problems

So, I was having some problems with my clutch pedal sticking at the top of travel and a bit of cluth slip under acceleration. The car is an 07 with 33k miles on it. Original clutch. I figured this was an issue with the actuator rod in the slave cylinder. I have removed the slave cylinder and filed down the little nipple that had worn in the face of the actuator rod, and removed the CDV (clutch delay valve). Loaded up with grease and reinstalled. Bled the clutch line.

Now, the clutch pedal still has a bit of stickyness at the top of travel, I'm figuring this would be the pivot point of the pedal needing some lube. More concerning is that I have clutch slip at acceleration at high RPM. It bites quite well from a standing or slow start, but if there is more than around 5-6k RPM the clutch will slip on anything other than moderate acceleration. I can't imagine that the clutch is fried with only 33k miles on it, so does anyone have ideas? If I do need to replace the clutch, can people recommend someone near Birmingham that does good work, I do not have the facilities available to change a clutch myself.

Thanks.

Are you sure you've got your VSA off or that VSA is actually working if it's fitted?

Of course clutch condition depends on how it has been used prior to your getting it.

What impact would VSA have on the clutch?

I've had the car for over three years and have put about 17k on the clock. It is not abused and while it may be driven spiritedly on occasion it is only after everything is warmed up. The slip is something that started after the pedal started sticking. The stickiness was there for a few weeks and the car was not used very much because of this. None of the mods on the car should have an impact here (exhaust, de-cat, K&N FIPK, engine torque damper, and a few other things not engine or suspension related)

I wonder if you've got too much slack in the pedal box ( or not enough) - there is adjustment available there too.

Ah, I didn't know that. I'll take a look at the pedal box. There may not be enough slack there meaning that the pedal is always partially depressed without my knowing....

Thanks for that.

That's the amount of play in mine after adjustment.
