Default Clutch Replacement

Hi All,

My clutch is on its way out and has started slipping. I've been quoted £750 by Mr Clutch for a replacement - all in. From reading some of the other thread - this sounds reasonable - is it?

I've got a friend who's a mechanic for Audi and he's offered to help me replace it - I've asked Honda for a price and the clutch kit is £500! Are there any after-market recommendation?

Finally does anyone know of any garages that give discounts for S2000 members or could anyone make a recommendation for somewhere to get the clutch replaced? I live near Kingston (South West London)

Thanks!

If you can drive up north than I think GarageR is doing a deal on Competition Clutch kits nad you will definately pay less than those two prices.

Thing is, it's a bear of a job changing the clutch. But £750 is nuts for something that is OEM replacement.

I had a standard Honda clutch fitted about 1 month, i bought it from them, cost around £490.00 and the garage that fitted it charged me £250.00.

I looked around at after market clutches and their really wasnt any point unless your running stupid power, 400whp or over. Also an OEM clutch will be lighter then a performance clutch, mine now feels amazing!

I dont agree with the above, a Honda clutch is just as good as any other if yorn car is running under the power i said above.

I never said the stock clutch was not good. I said paying £750 for one was nuts for an OEM replacement.

Exedy is a good one to go for

TGM in fleet are probably your closest specialist with a good amount of experience on the S.
