Thumbs down Coilover Accessory Bare Essentials?

Hi Guys,

Ordering my coilovers tommorow, and need to know exactley what I need to assure better than standard handling. I want to go for about a 30mm drop, so the arches are more or less in line with the top of the tyres.

Is this list and prices about right for a 99 spec car?

1. Rear Toe Arms -

I am lowered on kw3 and don't have any of the above and rides well. however I am looking into the rear tie bars. all the things you mentioned are what people add and change. if cash flow is tight just get coilovers and d the rest when you can.

I am sure some of the suspension guru's will be along to give btter advice

what coilovers you getting

Hi phil, thats just what I wanted to hear, Im going for Buddy Club N+ as nobody seems to have any and I got a great deal, so Im kind of a guinni pig .

When I had the geo done at mercedes wakefield and I said I was lowering it, they pointed out that because the way the suspension was made, front bump stops are essential. So really thats all Im really bothered about doing TBH, along with the driveshaft spacers to stop excess wear.

Id like a full geo doing at COG but will a 4 wheel alighnment do until Ive loosened and greased all the suspension bolts?

90 quid for front bumpsteer spacers is simply rediculous! It's a piece of metal and some bolts....

And you may be able to get away WITHOUT rear shaft spacers.

In addition, rear shaft spacers DO NOT prolong your driveshaft life, they merely prevent vibration if you have pitted your buckets (hopefully Craig will read this and show you his damaged bucket).

Can someone explain to me where the rack spacers actually fit?

I've seen what they look like but can't think where they actually go.

yeah I will do mate, we need more write ups on different coilovers, to give better idea's to people on tighter budgets, I'll post a review as soon as they arrive.

Hypersonic - it does seem alot, all of the above have been found on ebay, do you have any links to cheaper parts?

Pistonbroke - the drive shaft spacers fit immediatley after your diff between your cups, like a sandwich If you like.

Any more info on "bare essential" coilover bits, would be much appreciated, Im more bothered about prevention of damage to the car, and negative handling If anything.

Under the rack mounts.

None of this is essential, but the bump steer bits certainly make a big improvement.

On second thoughts, you're going to have such a high spring rate on those Buddy Clubs, you're not going to get much bump steer.

You wont be saying that when I out corner you . I was thinking as well, the rear toe arms could be done away with, If I soften the damping to counter act the bumping from the rear, where as at the front you do need to erradicate bumpsteer completely.
