The Bilsteins are the only ones (I think) to have softer rear springs than front. Most would say it's better to increase rear grip, and softer rear springs would do that. I do find with mine when it starts flying through the air it does it more at the front than the rear, which again sounds like a good thing. But perhaps I'm missing out in other ways.

BTW my PSS9 were about £850. But that was then.
We've found this to be a problem with the Gaz (400 rear/375 front). I get flung in the air a bit over sharp bumps, not good when one is sat towards the back, so the rear rate is going to be changed.

OEM 2002 has slightly softer springs on the rear 230 than the front at 240.

Matt, would you like me to move all the non-sale stuff to a new thread as we are way off topic here?

Sorry to keep this going too far off topic.. I will stop after this post

I think this was one of the articles referring to the harder setup on the rear -

http://www.kingmotorsports.com/techn...?showarticle=2

(towards the bottom they talk about spring rates)

That was a really good artical! The stuff about the science behind the air filter box and inducing cold air into it was great as well! I've defo decided im just going to clart the thing in heat reflective tape top to bottom lol. Good to read about some suspention tuning as well from folks who would know!

Well worth a read so thanks for sharing dude.

Phew well thread hijack over from me sorry guys!

Cheers tej...some useful info.

The Mugens appear to be a bit too stiffly sprung at the back IMO...I would prefer to have a softer rear than front (for that sort of money) too, because:

A - to preserve ride comfort

B - to allow better grip

Wish I had got some when the exchange rate was better!

EDIT: Thanks Groova for sorting the thread out

you can specify any spring rates you want on the BC's Matt. The 10/12 is just the standard.

Thanks Rob

Fatbloke chose slightly softer spring rates and said he has a little 'bounciness' over some bumps. I did have a brief ride in his S not long ago. I was quite impressed with them over what was a poor surface

Glad you've finally seen the light lofust

Ive been running Buddyclubs for over a year now and have been fiddling with the setup over the last month, and can safely say, the slight nose down setup along with a softer rear spring rate is the best. I run 1 click rebound on the rear and four at the front as the Buddyclub N+ is more of a Fast Road/Track Coilover.

From what Ive read on here your softer coilovers are the Tein monoflex and the Bilisteins where members have been running full rebound on the road! and finding the need to buy ARB's for the track as they were having too much body roll.

I think the BC's (not buddy clubs) fit in to the middle, neither too hard or too soft with a 30 setting rebound, which sounds ideal for you and at the price you cant really say no.

Hope this helps mate

Cheers...some sound advice

My Konis and Teins are good, but not versatile enough for what I intend to use my S for over the next few months
