As some of you will be aware, I've had problems with my 02 which Honda have (so far) been unable to locate and remedy. I've not given up hope of that completely but, if they can't, I don't have the confidence any more to drive my car the way it deserves to be driven and I'm contemplating p/x-ing the current beast against an 04.

If I do, I've got the dilemma of what colour to go for. I love MCB and still think it's the best colour in the range, but I'm struggling with the idea of buying the same car twice, let alone the same car in the same colour. I've narrowed the choice to MCB, Ascari Red or Imola Orange Pearl and discounted the rest -

- Silverstone is just too bland and common (sorry, all you grey owners )
- Black looks good but I've had them in the past and they're a bitch to keep clean
- I'm unconvinced by Nuremburg Trials Blue - sometimes I really like it, others I think it's a bit too girly for a bloke
- Yellow is just too extrovert for me
- Green -
- Monza Red Pearl, I've not seen in the metal and think it might be a bit too pinky/nail varnishy for my taste.

MCB

+ Love the colour
+ I can keep my blue Muz mats

- Already got one - might not feel like a real change
- Becoming far too common

Red

+ A true sportscar colour

- I've heard that they're hard to shift second hand and so you can get less in p/x
- Already quite a lot of them around

Orange

+ Rarity
+ Looks good!

- It costs an extra

Red or MCB, maybe Red for a change.

Orange might be a bit too lary for you IMHO.

if you want to optimise it from money point of view get the silver...orange is a bit MX5ish.

the car is pretty rare anyway...so I would not worry about too many of this or that.

Red can fade in time and is a Bit*h to colour match should you need any repairs.

Any serious buyer would want to see a car under street lights for this very reason.

To be honest there is not any colour that inspires a change unless a custom paint job.

I think that Red or Orange may also be too extrovert for you Mark. Stick to the conservative MCB

PS You may battle to get an Orange as a GT - UK_Trucks couldn't.

Orange, maybe, Chris. I don't think that red is particular extrovert.......

Not sure whether you're just extracting the michael. If nothing else, it's interesting to find out how other people perceive you!

Red is becoming really common Mark - the new Silverstone Orange, I'd be worried about resale. Have you watched the M3 vs S2000 video which has the lipstick red car ? Doesn't look half bad.

I think with the new 'mouth', rear, the silver bits inside and THOSE WHEELS it will definitely feel like a change, therefore stick with the colour that you like, Monte Carlo Blue.

For all the gags about fastest colour et al. After the Silver which is my fave colour for the car I do think MCB is the best.

There is a richness to the colour which suits the lines of the S. Can't really explain it any more but I hope u know what I mean.

Some of the brighter colours IMHO can make the bodywork look a bit plasticky. Sorry to all those with the bright hues.

You've got to remember MArk, with the new interior, which is what we as drivers see the most, it will feel like a completely new car and as the saying goes "If it ain't broke don't fix it".
