Default Which Compliance Bushes?

I've read lots of threads on here about bush replacement, and have decided to replace all of mine with Powerflex ones, but when it comes to compliance bushes I can't decide between Powerflex or Mugen. There doesn't seem, from what I've read so far, a concensus of opinion on which are best for a fast road set up. I guess I'm leaning more towards road comfort and low cost than outright performance - although I intend to do a few trackdays next year i want the car set up for comfortable but quick long distance travelling rather than for the track. The Powerflex lifetime guarantee is appealing though.

So the question is, do the Powerflex and Mugen bushes 'feel' different on the road and which would you recommend?

i'm either going for Koni Sport or Meister R coilovers if that makes any difference, thats another decision to be made

I haven't tried the new powerflex items, but they do look interesting.

How much are the Mugen ones vs the powerflex ones?

Mugen and mugen.

If you have poly bushes I think this is fine. However I think the front lower arm bush is better as a rubber mugen one rather than a poly. I hav poly bushes on mine with a mugen compliance yet I think the poly front lower arm bush is not well design and causes binding. The front suspension is much firmer since the bushes were fitted. This will be due to stiction in this front lower bush (it's a big bush!). The rear seems ok with poly bushes

Would be interested n other views on this but I'm tempted to take the poly ones and replace with the mugen ones which are about £80 for the pair

Fwiw I didn't bother with the top wishbone poly bushes either

On a price point, i'd say go for the Mugen ones then.

As for lifetime warranties, there is usually small print somewhere.

Again, I haven't ridden in a car with the Powerflex ones but, if you follow NUTs thread, you'll see that I am very complimentary regarding the Mugen/Koni setup.

I just thought I'd bump this thread up a bit.

I fitted a pair of Mugen compliance bushes about 3 years ago. My car gets regular suspension tweeks and the bolts and sleeves were liberally greased and yet the Compliance sleeve has seized inside the Mugen bush

What grease did use use to lube and protect the bolts ?

Just copper slip.


Strangely I can rotate the sleeve but it just won't come out of the bush

So the bolt isn't stuck in the sleeve?


I am more and more convinced that we need to use a waterproof grease rather than copper slip. copper slip is fine for assembly of bolts etc on threads and in nuts. But for things like bolt shafts etc up tubes i am not sure so I am leaning towards marine water proof grease

It's the sleeve, I maybe being retarded but it doesn't seem to want to leave the bush.
