Default Condensation in boot

Hello fellow S2k ers.

I get a lot of condensation build up in the boot, is this a common thing with S2000's? The water does NOT pool in the boot like a leek would.

I had a leek repaired by Honda due to the soft top running water toward the rear bulk head around 5 months ago but I get condensation build up on the inside of the boot lid, any ideas?

I know realise the exhaust runs under the boot and may heat the under side of the boot, but for it to naturally do this would be a poor design fault surely?

I cannot see any rust etc inside the boot any where and the condensation build just inside the boot lid within the 3 frames where the struts run to give integral strength to the boot hood.

Any ideas please people?

Thanks in advance.

Could be several reasons.

Leaking from: brake light, boot vent, aerial, fuel filler cap, sealant around boot panels, water running down back of hood and then over the rain rail.

Clean your hood drains, seal around above location.

Alternatively strip your boot interior and poor water over the above locations and find where it leaks from.

Mine also had similar issues finally traced to rear light passenger side, ordered a new foam gasket from Si @ Hendy and seems to have cured it.

I've got a massive leek(leak) inside my boot. planning to sort it out in January.
If you have the condensation and your boot liner is installed, I'd look at the brake light.
I might be wrong on saying this but, the boot liner would trap any, or most of the moisture behind itself as it is made of plastic. For this reason I'd suspect a small leek(leak) from a place where the is no liner. eg. brake light and tail lights.
while you're on it, have a look at the rubber where the boot lid seats and see if it's sealing properly.
Good luck!

Many people don't even realise the rain channel reservoirs require unblocking quite frequently. They are not visible without intentionally looking for them so are often missed.

The reservoirs are covered with the hardtop on tho are they not? I've had my hard top on since September. I will have to remove the hard top to check them!
