You are correct Rich. However you would have to be rather negligent to let it fill up!

Like many members I cannot get the car in the garage (it's a modern house with the usual 'dinky' garage!), so it stays on the drive in all weathers. The resulting condensation during cold spells causes a very damp interior with water dripping from the soft top.

Lidl recently had a small dehumidifier on offer which runs, through a transformer, from the mains. I am able to run an extension lead from the garage with the transformer plugged in under the car, where it is sheltered.

I tried it out last week, and, although the weather has not been cold, the unit collected one and a half pints of water. I was amazed!

If you suffer from this problem give it a try. The dehumidifier cost just over £30.

If you can run a mains lead to the car, which you have to leave outside, this is the answer!

With the recent cold weather the inside of the car has remained bone dry. However, I have to check the unit regularly as I'm collecting over a pint a day.

Take a look at the reviews on this stuff

It is essentially cat litter in a sock! I've heard this is a good DIY solution, although I've not tried it myself. Seems legit.
