Default Roof up or down while in the garage?

To best preserve the roof for the long run, is it best to always leave the roof up or down while parked in the garage (or anywhere for that matter)? IOW, is it better for the roof fabric to be tight (up) or folded (down) on a regular basis? Does it matter? Should I be more concerned about dust, spiders and my kids getting in the car?

During the summer months it should be fine with the top down. I've had mine done for about 5 weeks now. It's just when it gets cold that you should have the top up. As far as dust. spiders, and kids, get yourself a cover for the cockpit. Covercraft makes one for the S.

My top is down for 5-6 months of the year when I have my hardtop on. And in the summer, the top is up only when the weather is unpleasant or when I park it away from home. So you can see, my top is down most of it's life. NO PROBLEMO! Just don't go out after a really cold day and start folding the top up or down. Plastic is always more pliable when it's warmed up.

It is parked however it was pulled in. If down it stays down, if up the same.

My garage was turned into a spare bedroom, so my S stays outside... ...but I keep the top up to keep her warm

Top down. If I don't use the car for a couple of days I put the dust cover over the car.

either is fine. since i drive top down all the time, my S spends much ofthe time in the garage with top down. I have been putting it back up recently though b/c of spiders in the garage (summer...) and also b/c the window gets a chance to unfold. But I've been doing both for over 2 years, and no problems either way.

Usually the last time I drive it for the day the car gets parked in the garage with top up. Hopefully it helps to keep out the bugs, my wife is deathly afraid of spiders, and I figure it helps keep all the convertable parts in working order.

I do the same. I just assumed it was better for the top (and rear window) to not leave the top down during periods of non-use.

do you guys who frequently put the top up and down leave that irritating but nice looking cover on it? i find that with that thing on, i never raise the top. i've only had the car about 3 weeks but the top has only been up twice i think.
