Default Confused.com

This is a speculative post at this time.

I have just spent about 20 minutes entering data into www.confused.com 's website to see what offers they could come up with. Jaeger this may be of interest to you and the insurance thread.

Now the website isn't too painful and it does apologise for the time it takes to enter but all of it is pretty much straight forward apart from trying to find your career if its not one of the mosty standard ones.

Well after the data it then states it will take up to an hour to find the quotes and email you with them.

The service is free, I guess they get a kickback from the insurance companies, and is quite good as a freebie thing.

Anyway you may all be aware of my issues with the PRM and my insurance so as soon as I get the feedback I'll let you know how if it is worth using.

I`m pwwwwweeeetty sure Admiral own them.

Let me know if your best quote just `happens` to be Admiral or Bell Direct (also Admiral).

Chesh - just checked my email and got the results.

Low and behold Admiral were the cheapest, in fact given the PRM, they were one of only 2 who said they would insure. And it came in

I found the website to be pretty good myself Kelk. I spent the previous day ringing round everyone. Then I tried the confused thing and got a better result. Ok it may not provide a winner for everyone, but i have told several work mates about it and they all came back with better quotes than ringing around. Also don't use confused to take out the policy. You will get a better quote from the individual websites. Confused just does a lot of the legwork for you, to give you a general idea. At the end of the day you will always get the best deal ringing up and haggling, confused just gives you a better idea of who to ring.

Confused make their money by taking a commision when you take up the policy with them so it may not necesarily be in their interest to point you towards admiral or bell.

I think we had this once before and there were mixed responses - some good some bad. I think a rep from the website came on and posted about it too
