Default Cool feature in TomTOm Go

Last week I had a bit of a petrol crisis, and hadn't realised that TomTom could navigate to a Point of INterest - which could be a petrol station !

Just sitting on the sofa (day off today, bliss) messing around with it, and I've discovered it can do exactly this !

So just in case there are any other people out there who hadn't discovered this, I thought I'd point it out - very useful !!!!

Yep...assuming the POIs are up to date.

The Shell set for use in Scotland (NW Consolidated if you have them) is hideously out of date. It doesn't know of at least 3 I know of in Edinburgh and lead me across the city to the other side to two building sites before I found one that actually existed

Yep,

I switched them all on when I was bored in North London. That was a mess!

Very useful when you are out of squirt out in the sticks. There ARE points of interest in Lincolnshire, after all!

Very useful for finding Optimax when you're out and about.

If anybody wants the celebrity voice pack (Ozzy x-rated, Homer Simpson, Clint Eastwood etc) send me a PM with an e-mail address.

Jo, have you also uploaded the camera database? If not then it is worth it and you can download it for free.

And you can set it up to sound a warning when you are near a BP, TESCO or Shell petrol station (assuming you have POIs for them).

More importantly, you can sound a warning on cameras

Well, any POI really, but a massive "BEEP BEEP" on approaching a camera is quite handy

Yes it does this. In fact I always use it to find Shell garages. There are loads of points of interests. You can download stuff from the net. Like all footy clubs in england and mcdonalds restaurants

I always use mine to find the nearest Harvester when I go on long road trips
