I should add at this point that donations of time and expertise will be rewarded with beer / wine / spirits and food, as well as of course effusive thanks and reciprocal assistances should we ever be able to do so in the future.

LadyB can cook (As Mr Gaspode will verify) and is happy to do so.

We also have a spare room so you are welcome to indulge in the above and stagger to bed once OB1 is up and running of course

What SC setup do you have?
Might be an oppurtunity to up the boost and reduce the compression?
Mikey, What did you have in mind? I run the standard rotrex setup that TTS fitted.

cometic 0.74" h/g from science of speed Lloyd. Dont bother upping the boost. It will take the compression ratio down to 9.8:1 - you will lose some power but the upside is the longevity of the engine.

http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/eng...ic/head_gasket/ $105

Mikey would you boost beyond 15 ?

Can't really offer you much more than moral support.

As mentioned you could do some other updates such as hondata inlet gasket but on a intercooled application I don't know if it's worth anything. It's probably a good time to get those cooling parts upgraded, mugen, J's and spoon all do thermostats and fan switches. Mishimoto also have the same things in their range and don't charge for the badge.

Sorry to hear about this and hope you get it back on the road soon, where are you planning to take it TTS or TGM?

Having my head crack tested and skimmed was the end to my last engine at 126k miles, and it wasn't S/C'd. It lasted a month before throwing a rod.

The conclusion was it didn't like the increased compression with so many miles on the clock.

Go careful Lloyd, this modification business can get expensive!

good luck Lloyd - also bear in mind any changes to the engine and its C/R & H/G whether oem or aftermarket will need to be retuned after the work is complete. ;( Bad news that only leaves you 3 weeks to get the parts and work done before Mase arrives( assuming you choose to use him --- the alternative is TDi Thurrock) - maybe and this is food for thought would it be better long term to limit the boost like esem has.

btw are you still on the oem map sensor ?

let me know if i can do anything to help.
