I've only every had a courtesy car once and it was a 318. First up going form the stumpy cooper S to a 318 was a little difficult getting used to but it did me a treat. had it for a couple of weeks and that period happened to coincide with a house move so the extra space was a bonus.

Though I was driving the lowest spec car (albiet M steering wheel and gear nob) people looked at me everywhere I went. Not sure if it was a Tosser look... think it was.

Funny, but the attitude from other drivers suddenly change when you get in a 3 series. No one lets you out at junctions... I learnt to dislike the car, however the extra space was a real bonus just when i needed it. Agreed - not huge but compared to the mini - plenty.

I can understand your other complaints re service but I can't understand what complaint you could possibly have regarding the courtesy car (my insurers normally cover them for no extra cost)...

If the image means that much to you - renting something more to your taste would be the best bet. If you don't like the cost implication of that - then I guess it's the Suzuki... or walking for you...

On the subject of courtesey cars of the same brand, Honda UK gave me a Vectra for a month from Enterprise when they were sorting the S2ks suspension. It cost them about

I think courtesy cars used at most main dealers (all manufacturers) is the biggest missed opportunity of upselling there is.

Mind you though i did say i was interested in down grading and wanted an extended test drive, great way to get a decent courtesy car.

I have a friend who has a Celica T-Sport and it is very nice indeed.

I also have a soft spot for the MR2 - quite a focused little car IMHO.
