Default CRV Forums ?

One of the guys from the office is about to buy a CRV and just wondered if anyone knew of any CRV specific forums or will he need to go to a general forum like Hondarevolutions.

He wants to buy sat nav as an afterthought as opposed to with the car as the dealer wants shedloads more for it. Is the sat nav unit a generic Honda one and any ideas where he can get one cheap.

Cheers

Ryan

Ryan, we have a CR-V with standard fit Sat Nav. Originally I heard the unit was made by Alpine, then I heard it was made by Blaubunkt. When I had my FM Modulator fitted I checked the back of it to see if there was a manufacturers label on it - sadly not, so I'm still none the wiser as to does actually make it.

BTW, tell him that the standard system is very good, but doesn't have Postcode searching ( ), however you can search on telephone number, Points of interest, etc. Route guidance can either be shown as a map display or in Guidance mode that doesn't show a map, but does graphically display a junction countdown - very usefull if like me, you can't gauge "In half a mile, take a left turn"! Other cools things are displays distance and time to destination, Altidude and Latitude/Longditude position

Would I recommend it as a Sat-Nav system? Yes
Would I recommend it as a good ICE? Sadly No, DVD system doesn't play DVD's and sound quality is not the best - bit too tinny compared to the standard fit system in my IS200.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks S2k dja.

He just read your post, said fcuk it and said he will buy an aftermarket one so he can play DVD's to entertain his kids on the long drives he does to Denmark.

I've got CR-V too but have never found a UK forum, only a Scandinavian one and a US one (quite different cars in the US).
