Default Current MY04+ value? Update post production trend.

I started this thread in Australia (copied below) and then thought why not the rest of the world (S 2000 Talk), any UK volunteers in helping keep our S 2000 alive FOREVER and maybe just maybe be around to see it become a "classic".

Will there ever be a return to demand for the S 2000? Like other collector models out there?
Will this thread reveal the trend whereby one can spot the collector market trending upwards?
Will you be "pissed off" because you let her go and sold her too cheap?
I actually know someone whom sold his GTHO Phase 3 for under $10k now worth $50-100k (I think), and another whom sold their beachfront Hedges Ave. for a million (now worth 3 million)
If only they had an internet forum to follow and could spot the future unfolding.

I would love to see this thread active in years to come like so many other fantastic threads from this forum, resurrected after years through "search".

AUSTRALIA UPDATE:
Seems as though AP2 are becoming scarce, with only 2 currently on carsales.com.au.

Price ranging from $50k MY05 private to $60k MY06 dealer. These have been on the market for a month, 2 previous AP2's went within a week for $45 ish I think from memory.)

Just wondering if for instances sake, you had the funds for, and were looking for an AP2, disregarding colour choice (as this is limited) and lets say for arguments sake under 50k km. and in excellent condition.

What would you be willing to pay to get one.? Call this, just an exercise in gaining some sort of consensus from you the S2000 enthusiast and to answer my current curiosity, (also kill some time thru Easter...LOL) thanks for ur feedback.

We call them AP1's

AP2 is the 2.2 litre model that the US got.

All cars in Europe are AP1's

We normally refer to them by MY.

Various ways to tell.

1/ Pop your bonnet, look at the plate - does it say "AP1" or "AP2".

2/ Does your car rev to 9000? - then it is an AP1. If it limits at 8000 - it's an AP2.

That's your answer.

just checking in the UK the MY04+ saw the changes to the front and rear bar, headlights and tail lights plus interior as well etc. right?
The reason why I did MY04+ was because here in Australia it's pretty easy to get a price guide/trend on the MY99-MY03 just by studying for sale sites (80 odd for sale on average.)

Yup, revised bumpers, dash, lights etc etc.

With the US - they got a new engine at the same time (the 2.2 litre - AP2) , hence why many folks fall into the trap of calling the car an AP2, but we know what they mean.
