Default Cusco brake brace

So I managed to bag a cusco brake brace off eBay for a bargain of £11.50!

I fitted it once I got home this evening. Very easy to do from what I could see (with a little help of some fitted photos from google!). Only took around 5 mins with the removing of 2 bolts from the power steering ecu then bolting the new part in.

My questions to people who have these fitted are these:

1. I've tightened up the bolt which pushed against the brake cylinder as tight as I dare - is this right?

2. Have you noticed a blind bit of difference? Because after a quick blast up the road for a few miles, I haven't noticed anything! Maybe I'm expecting too much, or I need to take it for a longer drive, or maybe I've fitted it wrong?

Here's a pic of it fitted....

There may be a slight change in feel under hard braking situations, but you're not going to suddenly have reduced stopping distances.

As LG says, under longer hard braking you'll feel a bit of a difference. In commuting conditions, no difference at all really.

I noticed the difference driving down the road at 15mph.

I think your Spoon master cylinder sock is cancelling out the effect.

Brake brace is 100% effective. A great mod that, as Dembo says, you can feel the improvement immediately.

If you take it off again, get someone to stamp on the brake whilst you look at the servo and watch it bulge outwards!!

I guess like what has been commented above, I just need to drive some more to fully appreciate the difference then.

I reckon you won't notice it until you take it off and then it might feel a bit more spongy
