Default DAB in the S2000

Having bought another car with DAB installed as standard, I'm interested to know if anyone else has successfully retrofitted it in the S2000. Which hardware did you use? I don't want to do it for the sound quality but the range of stations and the info.

Nick Graves has done this - I think he just switched head units and installed a different aerial. If the search is working, it should give you something.

Search Nick Graves' posts for Sony or DAB or aerial, that should do it.

Or mention my name three times into a mirror.

You'll need a HU, a powered beesting aeriel and a body washer & some JB Weld.

There is power for the existing beesting, so it's as straightforward as running the new coaxes under the carpet on the top hat on the tranny tunnel.

Getting the old beesting out without the correct spanner (for the top) is a PIA and you'll find a teardrop-shaped slot for it underneath. Hence a large body/mudguard washer and the JB Weld, to seal it from the underside & to stop the new twig from moving about.

Think this is the one I used...

Hi,

I've done the same.

I've got a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB 54.

I changed the rear antenna for a similar looking DAB antenna, ans as Nick said, there is a big hole underneath, so a washer is needed.

Thanks
Bharat

Forgot to add that I've also got the Bluetooth module for the Blaupunkt !

Besides the phone part, it also allows me to stream music from my phone so it comes through the car speakers !!

Regards
Bharat

If you dont want any unsightly masts, there are a few units available from alpine iirc that come with a small black magnetic box, all it requires is clean metal contact and you're done.

I'm afraid I don't have any model numbers in my head atm though sorry

What, using a body panel as the dipole?

Unless you use a body panel as a dipole & an external twig, there is no point in fitting DAB. Might as well just eat Vindaloo three times a day.
