Dashboard Light Issue

Hi

I have a strange issue with the dashboard lights on my MY07.

The other day the light to indicate the headlights are on stopped working, all other lights were ok, so I pulled out the fuse for the Small Lights and checked that it was not blown and it wasn't. I then swapped the fuse with the 10A SRS fuse to see if it would make a difference but still no light. However, since swapping the fuses the air bag light now stays on whilst driving. I have swapped fuses back, bought new fuses, I have even left the SRS fuse out but the light still stays on. Does anyone have any idea of why the SRS light stays on and the headlight indicate does not light up?

Also, what is the point of the SRS fuse, I thought removing the fuse would stop the light from showing, I removed the dashboard fuse and all the lights went out so at least I know the fuses do something.

I am out of ideas.

Thanks

To solve your srs light issue, you will need to reset it with with the ol' paper clip trick! Let me see if I find the thread

I found the link https://www.s2ki.com/forums/uk-irela...aying-1174895/ thanks, I'll give it a go.

Any idea about the headlight indicator light, is it simply a bulb issue?

Yes and it's a dash out job to fix it.

Is taking the dash out a big job? I suspect it is.

If the non-working light is not an MOT failure then I can live with it, it just feels weird driving around at night and not seeing the dashboard light on.

Actually it's not a massive job - i can get one out and back in ... under an hour but then i've had practice.

If it only takes about 1 hour then I think I'll get a quote next time my car gets serviced to see if the price is worth paying to save me the time and hassle of removing the dashboard myself, at least the work will come with a guarantee whereas if I balls it up it would probably cost even more to fix!

I'm going to attempt to reset the SRS light this weekend if I can find a paper clip!

That's what i followed a few years ago - it's really not that difficult.

dashboard removal

Hi if its of use when you disconnect the battery first before starting the dash removal - wait 5 minutes before disconnecting anything.
I have done a dash removal and done slowly and carefully is quite straight forward. Pics on your mobile of each stage help of course.
