I doubt removing the mid section will have a similar effect though
WOOOAAHHH!!

I have taken an angle grinder to the mid box and cut away a 6"*4" isosceles triangle.

This allows my extra clearence and I get to keep the mid box!

Kept all the noise deadening fibre too!

Fitted de-cat prior to after-market large bore exhaust & it only made a barely detectable difference in sound & performance, which I suspect could have been more imagination than reality.
Essential to fit anti-foulers x 2 or engine light will not extinguish.
No drone now exhaust fitted.

Come the first MOT time probably re-fit cat. as too much of a faff to remove and replace every subsequent MOT.
Even with larger bore exhaust not convinced I get power gain, but the proper sporty sports car sound is essential.

High flow cat are also available and dont need to be swapped over for MOT's, in theory at least.

That might be a Plan B, but would need convincing it's less restrictive than OE which I understood from previous postings is very efficient as is.
OE cat. is flipping heavy though.

Anti foulers can be bought off ebay. IIRC they're used for spark plugs too.

Hi i'm looking at getting a decat pipe and back box's for my 1999 S2000, I could do with an idea what to go for. I've seen decat pipes and exhausts on ebay, but i have noticed from reading about the decat pipe i need anti foulers for the pipe.

Can anyone suggest which exhaust is best andwhere to get anti foulers as i couldn't find those listed anywhere

Cheers
