Default Decat...

Hi everyone.

Just recently picked up my s2000, and more recently fitted a full buddyclub system (race spec manifold and dual pro spec catback)

Ever since picking the car up there has been an annoying rattle at certain rpm. i found out yesterday its coming from inside the cat.

CAT's are pretty expensive, but im reluctant to put a decat on there for 2 reasons, 1) i dont have an ecu yet to sort all the fueling out and 2) i dont want the cars smooth exhaust note to become raspy.

From experience on my old golf r32, as soon as i fit the decat it changed the exhaust not considerably and not for the better.

Can anyone advise? Or am i just worrying to much.

Fancy seeing you here

plenty of people here run decats, or if you want to pass mot's you can use a berk sports cat (63.5mm and 70mm versions available iirc)

Unsure on the noise difference, Simon has one on his I believe... not heard him mention any differences, I believe it helps to reduce drone at cruise rpm speeds?

I've got that header on mine and originally had a decat and 60mm cat back - the sound was awesome

The decat will take away any drone that you probably have and the noise in VTEC will sound like a sports bike. There really is no sound like it

Interesting, so it makes the drone better rather than worse.

Could be worth it then. thanks, ill give one a try.
