Default Decat

Rob at Garage R is working on my car this morning and is possibly going to fit a decat to replace the existing cat that fit for the skip now.

Anyone know what the power gain is (if any) and if there's any noticeable gain in noise?

None if you have no other mods.

If you are going to do some more exahaust mods, or your cat is about to die then yes Might get an extra mpg out of it too. Downside is MOT time and emissions...

Cheers for that. Think I'll go for it because I reckon I'm on the edge of the slippery slope of modding the car anyway!

There could be a new project thread appearing in the future!! :-)

They seem to help a lowered vtec engagement transition, of course this requires an ecu etc.

I'd have a decat on mine, but it won't pass emissions.

I'd have a decat on mine...and an exhaust....intake....enhanced ECU....oh yeah, and a whopping big 'charger! It won't pass emissions, hell it makes a Chinese Power station look environmentally friendly. But though I drive through shadow of the Valley of Dales (Yorkshire), I shall fear no Greenpeace because I am at 14psi and rising...
