Default Decat & CEL

I fitted an HKS Hi Power Silent to the S last Thursday and a decat pipe that I've had for a while. Not sure what make the decat is but it came with a cobra? cat back exhaust system.

All was fine until this morning when the CEL stayed on. I'm 99% sure its because of the decat pipe, having read threads about this before.

I seem to recall there is a gizmo you can buy that links into the system! Can anyone tell me what it is, where I can get one & how much they are?

You need "anti foulers"

A couple of people on here might have spares. I can't remember who exactly, but I am sure they will be along shortly.

The antifouler is basically a spacer which pulls the lambda sensor out of the airflow and stops the CEL being triggered.

Antifoulers aren't originally designed for this purpose, but they fit they are for filthy big old yank engines that oil up the plugs all the time. More agricultural and lorry stuff, the yanks used large capacity petrol engines a lot longer than most because of the cheap fuel.

Martin, I can see that you have polished the WHOLE exhaust. You are truly mad!

Hope you get yourself an anti-fouler soon and enjoy the sound!

PS: Agree with Mark AE... great post.

Cheers AE, I did do a search but didn't come up with anything conclusive. Maybe should have done more searches.

Nick, that's not your zorst, that's the one I put on early last year. It was soooo loud I took it straight back off again.
