Default Decat pipe

Sorry for asking what maybe a stupid question but I have 2007 S2000 and bought a decat pipe from e-bay £31 bargin I thought but I have since been informed it won't fit. I thought the exhaust system was the same on all model S2000's. Can someone shed some light?

Thanks in advanced

Chris

It will fit but may cause the CEL light to come on.

I fitted a Berk Tech decat to my 07 car and the light came on after about 30 miles, I reset it and it was OK for at least another 40miles...

I don't know if that would of been a ongoing problem as I had some other tweaks done to the car at that point which was why I was fitting the decat in the first place.

because the ECU changes to the MY06 onwards allegedly make it more sensitive than the early cars.

Mine is the Berk decat with built in CEL fix and it did still throw a CEL.

physically it should fit but you have four options if it throws CELs frequently:

1. reset them each time with a cheapo code reader

2. ignore them they might even reset after a while

3. Try adding extra anti fowlers to move the sensor further out

4. Get your car flashed and deactivate the 2nd O2 sensor check.

This is the link. I take it the bolt in the side is where the sensor goes?

That one looks a bit crap. It's too much for a cheap ebay part and if it's as shown then the sensor boss has no spacing.

Suggest that you have a look in the supplier section at the Garage R decat. it might still throw CELs but at least has an offset sensor. Speak to Rob and he will tell you how if he's got any direct experience on a DBW car.

Mate its not going to work on your car as ninebolts has already informed you, there will be an engine check light after fitting it. The only way you can use a decat pipe on your car is by also buying a Hondata Flash Pro ECU piggy back and have the car tuned properly.

If you havent got an aftermarkt exhaust/manifold and intake, save your money.

I've got a GarageR on my 07 and no problems with CEL. The key thing was the attached spacer for the sensor being long enough.

I have a decat for sale if you want it.

It has a small baffle for reduced resonating/drone and a CEL fix,

PM me.
