Default decat pipes

Yes we all know it's illegal but how many people have done it and does it make a difference?

I'm looking at a few systems at the moment it seems to be cheaper to get a decat made then just fit it back for the MOT.

Got some silly quotes from people like scorpion

Not illegal to have no CAT IF you still can pass the emission regs IIRC.

Some cars still can... unfortunaly the S is not one of them.

IIRC Biker1 (nigel) has his car decatted and tuned so that it still passes the MOT. DOn't know how he's managed to do it though.

On the subject of de cats, is it worth me fitting ones made by berks technology on the standard S exhaust system (Sound and performance wise)?

I know i'm not up for massive gains but i don't want to get it fitted and realise it wasn't worth it in the slightest.

I did for a bit, the sound was a lot better and the pickup was great.
But then it was a VERY cold day when I did, so it could have been that which my "butt dyno" detected ..
