NSX-R and NSX Type R were much more than a facelift. Do some research

Type R brand was diluted with the last CTR - where was the LSD? Just a cynical marketing exercise. Having said that, Honda JP still seem to treat the brand seriously - current JDM Type R anyone?

Usually.

NSX type R was purely a facelift anyway, has the same engine as the normal 3.2

As far as I'm concerned the Type R brand died well was seriously diluted when the Ek9 (The proper civic type R) ceased production IIRC it was 1999.

I would love a S2000 Type R, if they could get 260BHP, an uprated suspension and loose a bit of weight it would be a winner.

The CR is turd and it looks turd too, not that i have driven one but its a crap rehash, almost as crap as a rover 25 in MG ZR pants

I totally disagree with you I'm afraid - the real Type R is still alive and well and better than ever. The only trouble is that we get the p1ss poor excuse that was the EUDM EP3 and now the FN2.

Chris.

Why do people think there should be a definition? It's just a marketing tool. The Civic is a car for old people, so when they wanted to sell them to chavs, they stuck a Type R badge on it to make it sound like it's a different car.

With the S2000, they never had the problem of trying to sell it to two polar opposite ends of the market. Honda were obviously happy enough to market only to hairdressers.
