Hello and welcome

I did a search and found some good topics (search box is up at the top)

Honda stuff is fine. I use Motul in all my cars, but just a preferance.

Also have a look in the technical FAQ!

I went for Castrol oils - SMX-S I think it was in the 'box and Differential EPX 80W-90 in the diff. Both were available from Halfords and not bad value (especially good with a trade card! )

Motul Gear 300 - Gearbox
Motul PA 90 - Differential

Read a lot about them on this forum, and used it with no problems.

3 year service due - is it worth having the gearbox oil changed ( it's not requirement I know ) and is there a better oil that may give an even smoother change, than whatever Honda put in?

I used to use the Redline stuff
But found the Honda stuff better (ironically)
My gearbox & diff are done every year.

BB, with winter coming the box can get a bit notchy. People who have used the Motul have reported a big improvement at cold, but this stands for any decent aftermarket fluid tbh.

If the box is a bit notchy, try a 75w-80, this should solve the problem.

Cheers

Thanks lads, I'll try the genuine stuff first and see how I get on. General feedback seems to suggest it might be a bit better....we'll see!!
