Default Diff Mount Collars/washers?

Hi guys,

Has anyone this side of the pond tried these on their car?

Thanks,

Pete

IIRC these were available at one point with the subframe sleeves - I don't think the difference was hugely noticeable!

I started out by spotting the J's Racing solid mounts but after researching these they look to be brutal on the diff and are now discontinued. I then looked for something less hardcore and that brought me to these half way house.

I've just won some of these for a tenner. Anyone know how hard they are to fit?

I recently installed a set of these. Very simple if your diff mount bolts are free/unsiezed. I would definitely give yourself two hours minimum.

My mounts had covered 128k so we're due either replacement or reinforcement. If you read up on these they still allow minimal movement in the mount rather than a solid version. Post fitting, I noticed improved throttle response. The back end gets a bit sideways easier than before. The car feels much 'flatter' through corners though, which if you keep on the throttle is quite confidence inspiring. I've yet to have a proper blast or trackday with them fitted so this is based on general daily driving. Overall I would recommend them.

I have also put a bid on these, worth a try I think!

Agreed, for 40 quid that's a nice number.

This is the type of tweak which will work wonders if it's coupled with something high quality like a brand named LSD. Could really help keep the back in line and make it a little more predictable.

Seems a good fit. Anyone on here had first had experience. Any risk to shortened reliability?
With a review like those posted through the link above, seems silly not to fit them at the low cost.

Think is, even if it does shorten reliability of the diff, you can buy one second hand for 250quid - that's 250quid cheaper than the cheapest Limited Slip Diff and even a very mild upgrade on the stock diff weighs in around 250-500 (internals).

For people wanting a cheap solution and a more direct feel, these are a real winner.
