Be interested on the oil situation in your diff. Please try and test it and report back

Are you having a complete, never been fitted to a car before, brand new, still in the wrapper, diff fitted each time, or is your dealer rebuilding your original unit each time?

That could well be a recipe for disaster

Thanks for the responses. In answer to the questions;

My driving is very considerate! Never dump the clutch, never take it on the track - that's not the problem!

Been through the whole oil issue the previous time - and i'm positive they used the correct oil at least on the last occasion - that's not the problem either.

Its been a brand new diff every time. I seriously doubt they know how to repair a broken diff anyway - their strategy has always been 'bung a new one in'.

I'm also certain that it's not the diffs themselves (too much of a coincidence for 5 to go), and as they have been fitted by two separate dealers, its probably not them either.

Which means it's most likely a problem with something connected to the diff being misaligned - I'm not technical, but that just seems logical having eliminated all of the above. A damaged suspension, for example, sounds very feasible. Only thing is, with all the time the dealers have had to check for something like that, it seems odd they haven't found anything.

The extended warranty suggestion sounds like a good idea, although I'm thinking i'm more likely to sell the car now after all the bother its caused. If/when I do, I'll post a warning here for no-one to touch it with a barge pole!

Did you get anywhere with Honda UK? I'd have thought they would be interested to know that you've had 5 separate LSDs go pop and might be prepared to send out one of their (rather better informed) engineers to have a look?

supply your own diff oil and see if it happens again
TBH , I wouldn't put myself anywhere in the line of fire on this one , everything needs to be supplied and fitted by the dealer then they have no comeback on you .

As Lurking lawyers suggests , i would pursue Honda UK , they cant be happy that its cost them so much to date
