Default Diff oil

Guys I decided to change the diff oil before fitting a new diff to my car.

The new part came from a 2008 car with 23k on it, this stuff came out. (the purple liquid in a v dirty oil tray)

What do you think this is? Is it something Honda put in ?

I'm not sure what AJ is saying is true or not, but one thing is for sure--that's definitely not Honda factory fill diff oil.

Chris.

Yeah I'm worried, AJ are you sure thats what this stuff is?

Well I've flushed it with cheap stuff and filled with redline 75w90. I'll see how it is. I bought the diff of lazy boy who is stripping a 08 car. His engine broke, I wonder if some monkey serviced it before he got it and put engine oil in th diff and diff oil in the engine !

Or has someone drained the diff after removing it and put some 'transport' oil in just to keep things from rusting whilst it was stored

AJ You

I find it strange that the diff oil would be changed on a 2008 car with such Low mileage.
