Default diff - rebuild or replace with second hand

hello,

the bearings on both sides of the diff output seem really badly worn, there is a massive amount of play in them. the car is quite low mileage at 52k.

Has anyone had a rebuild done on these? or would it be cheaper to try and get a second hand one from a trusted forum member?

Thanks

chris

I'd go used. Whats caused it do you think? Is it lowered?

im not sure, ive only had it since 50k miles. No not lowered totally standard full history etc.

the symptoms include very very bad vibration if you accelerate at lowish revs, its now also doing it on deceleration.

so I had a look under the car as I first thought diff mounts, and then noticed a massive amount of up and down play on the diff output at both sides, so im assuming this is to blame and not the cv cups as is mentioned on here a lot.
