Thanks!

Let me look at the instructions again tonight. I need to pull the diffuser to fix an upside-down nut inside the round part of the subframe anyway.

I know from experience of fitting the centre fins wrong the first time I fitted the diffuser. In my opinion fitting black edging strip to the fins makes the diffuser stand out.

Looked at the instructions just now and she's installed as they specify. And how all the photos in this old thread show the middle fins.

Not sure why the fins are this way or if it makes a performance difference, but that's the spec.

Black edging strip? Like the stuff we put on our door edges to keep from chipping them? Probably will look nice! Photo?

Happy to be corrected, but I like the look of the spacing of the fins being even. As you will be aware you can swap the fins over without removing the diffuser.
The black rubber edging strip I purchased from Amazon very cheaply.
PM me if you want details.
I am not with the car for a couple of days, I will try and get a photo when I get back.

I'm not convinced this diffuser is anything more than cosmetic and fitting the central fins to look balanced will therefore have no effect on function (or non-function!).

I agree with you, but it does what I want i.e. stops gravel being thrown up into the bumper and number plate surround. IMO it improves the look of the rear of the car. If I do get any performance benefits it's a bonus, however the speed that I drive now I doubt that I will.
