Default Dinks

Sorry if this is a repetitive one - parking dints (small creases and dents in the door which are too small to pop out)in the door

I'm keeping my S now, and I want to stick a few miles on it (thanks to contributors of an earlier MPG thread)

Ive taken about 3 parking dints on the doors of an otherwise mint car. Honda bodywork is the worst for dints and the S2K is a nightmare. I can see these 3 2mm dints in my dreams. Ive seen a few 'dent' removal kits on ebay and heard about dent removal people who can make a car as new. I've also seen a pic of an s2K door covered in filler for what looks like dints..I'm really hoping this isn't the sign of things to come.

I keep telling myself it's a 'when i sell issue' but if there was a solution I'd prefer not to live with the DINTS.

I came back to my car in a carpark where I had left a massive gap using an end spot and two much 'older people than myself' unintentionally swung their Hyundai door which used the additional momentum space and crashed into my S2K mirror then dinted the door. I cried deep inside, internally concluded f-it and put door repair on my list of incompetent DIY jobs

Should I get a DIY kit, call a dent man or live with dints?

If you care that much about the car (nothing wrong with that ), then I would pay someone to do it for you. There is an art to removing dents from a car, and you are in danger of only making it worse, which leads to a bigger bill.

I have a wee dint in the drivers door, I've left it because if I get it sorted I'd be worrying about the next which so far hasn't appeared in two years(touch wood) if the paints ok don't worry unduly.

From what I understand there are those that are strong with the force and can remove dents from car doors without even needing to remove any panels:

I have a very small dent on driver side door that can only be seen at an angle, my better half says you can barely see it but to me its like a HUGE dent and whenever I see it, it makes me rage on the inside...

Get them removed, around £60 a pop,you will get a discount for more than one.

You get a good dent removal man cherish his number and put it very safe.I had a really good guy from Warrington but the selfish basket buggered of to Australia. He said if you can see any trace of the dent then you dont pay him, you cant say fairer than that.

Just had one removed from my wifes corsa vxr, I can still see it but I havent told the wife.So if you get somebody to come out to it watch him and be very critical

Having noticed a few in mine, I'm thinking of learning how to take care of it myself. It is bound to happen again in the future, so may as well be prepared with the knowledge of how to deal with it. Makes it a less daunting sight to know its easily taken care of. Just like painting, I think prep prep prep is the key.

Lucky for me I used to have a Diamond dents guy next door to me, he went over my 12 year old CRX, did about 10 small dents, the results were astounding. And it didn't cast ma a penny.

Personally, if it's small I would live with it, unfortunately there are always going to be times when you're parked in a public place and you get a ding or stone chip.

However, if it's really bugging you then I'd highly recommend Jake at F1 dents. On my civic he took out two dents, one in my arch and one on my boot for £90, you could not tell there was ever a mark on the car it was so good.

I had some minor door dings removed by TGM (wasn't them as such but they have a specialist that they get in to do the job) I'd never no they had been there.
