Default Disconnecting release fork?

I want to grease where the release fork engages with the release bearing but I don't know how to access that far in. Is it possible to disconnect the release fork to make access easier and simply connect it back up? I don't want to try disconnecting it before I ask for some guidance because i'm worried it won't reconnect and i'll have to pull the gearbox to reconnect it.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks in advance

You can't pull the fork out with the GB in situ.

Popping it back into place once you disconnect it is very easy. Don't worry.

Yes you can, you might find it easier if you take of the slave cylinder.

done it, it's very straight forward; i found removing slave cylinder is helpful (2x 12mm bolts iirc).
refitting went wrong first time (clutch pedal jammed solid), but re-locating it fixed that. based on that, it would be worth noting the rough angle/position of the fork for when you refit it

shouldnt really take you more than 15-20mins.
