Default Dissapointing 0-60 time

I've never felt that the car was particularly weak, but looking back at some videos, my 0-60 times are around 8-9 seconds (with gentle starts), instead of the 6.1 seconds stated by Honda. While I'm sure my launch isn't ideal (I want to be easy on the clutch), 3 seconds is a massive extra time.

Do they lose this much power over the years? The car seems to be alright mechanically. Is it normal to have such a slow 0-6o time? I'm a bit worried.

What RPM did you launch it from???? In my Evo to get a 3.5 you have to launch from 5k
It cant be good for the gear box but has to be done now and then

Those 0-60 times were them basically dropping the clutch at 5-6k if I remember the magazines back in the day correctly. It's a big deal in a car that has such a low torque number and peaks so high in the revs. This car is definitely not the best to drag

You can get in the 5s dumping the clutch can't you?

Have you compared to anything else on YouTube?

I'm sure some guys have got it down to 5.9 on a standard car I believe
But at the cost of a OEM clutch

Engine torque figures have nothing to do with 0-60 times, acceleration is proportional to engine power.

Get a decent GPS unit for your phone and one of the appropriate apps and you can measure your performance accurately.

I think 6 to 6.5 is reasonable given that the car is no longer new - but you need a dry day and a good surface and preferably no one with sensitive ears listening.

An S is not a particularly quick car however it is a driver's car which is where the appeal to me is. You have to work to maintain a good pace rather than point and squirt it down the road.

If you wanted a rocket to 60 you got the wrong car.

To log this I used a high speed GPS, this is with a supercharger on logged on a runway. If you want to get consistent and repeatable times you need more than the 1hz GPS receiver that is in your phone.
