been thinking of making an engine brace for a while now so finaly bit the bullet
its made from a drop link from an MGZ (

10 out of 10 from design and effort mate.

Any chance you've got anymore pic's. I cant see how it connects to the car.

Il have a try tomorrow but it picks up
on the hole that holds the air filter bracket
and the first bolt that holds the heat sheild on (not counting the one on suspension tower)

I presume this is in the same vein as an ETD?

Looks good, however all of the other 'ETD' engine torque dampers have a sort of piston which limit/reduces movement - how important it is i dont know, i see you dont have one?

Can you not remember Ron's post Steve?

He was Ridiculed in that post, by people who always drop their car off at dealers/dont work on cars and of the course the know it alls

There are performance as such benefits i have experienced.

Not really a performance gain but you put all the acceleration
direct to back wheels instead of twisting the engine first
Some believe that preventing the engine mass from moving helps the
handling, personally I think it helps with gear change as it prevents the box from twisting while on and off throttle during gear change

I found...

A more direct feel, eg when you plant your foot down quickly.

Gear changes were a tad smoother

And as oxhouser says above

It does indeed. The design looks great btw

I also noticed an improvement in throttle response, whereas I noticed no such improvement from all the other mods I have fitted. Really helps your heel & toe'ing too

Remember also that I had a broken engine mount that could only have been caused by the engine rotation so it will prolong the life of said mounts
