Default DIY makers thread

What items etc have you made for your S, that you have made or modified yourself? - come on show what you've done

I'm a big fan of DIY and its great when people make stuff themselves i think, i was considering making stuff out of carbon fibre with a kit but its early days.

I'll start off, not a lot but a few items over the years. In the process of designing something nice as i havent done it for a while.

I love a bit of DIY too. Not done much on the S 'yet'

Oil pressure gauge fitted into dash.

Working on my own carbon skirts and rear bumper side spats on and off, if i can get my dam welder fixed make my own stainless intake aswell. Hopefully get this done before summer is out, my car needs some Aural sex!

Nice one, remember to post pics!.

Making a single exhaust cap was a nightmare and TBH wasnt 100% fitting LOL so i can imagine the effort skirts would require, it would never make one again the amount of time i spent was stupid.

Like your VAFC in the radio door, clever! I was thinking of the sunvisor for satnav...

I made a small 'parcel' shelf from ally mesh fitted where the glovebox should be. It wasn't the best idea tbh as it just bangs the passengers knees.
(now horrified at what I did, and really need to buy a replacement piece of trim as it's full of holes!)

Fitted led footwell lights though they're quite useful when you can't find your front door keys/false teeth etc

If it ever stops raining I will be fitting more internal cupboard lights c/w microswitches so they come on when opened.

Made my brake ducts for my early model front bumper, the whole project seems to have worked well too.
No more overheating using EBC RedStuff on track days.

Fitted

I want them to be perfect (or as good as I can get them to look), so there's probably a couple more days work left on the moulds.

No pics I'm afraid, but I've done the following:

DIY rear lower brace.
DIY seatbelt desqueakener.
DIY roof lining (replaced by non-DIY version!).
DIY lined glovebox.
DIY roof wear patches.

Nothing really exciting enough to take photos of anyway, but nice little touches that improve/protect the car in small ways.

Edit: ooh, and self-fitted seat heaters. Best of the lot.
