Default Door rattle

Having to endure a slight but nevertheless annoying little rattle from drivers door.
Could live it but why should I?

Tried: glass up & down.
locking the door
grease added to catch - supplying garage did this
sprayed nylon/fabric lubicant down gap in top of door, through
exterior handle hinge apertures & edge of door trim
unscrewed & re-screwed all visible screws
driving ( slowly) with door ajar
lightly tapped door trim but can't hear anyting loose

Reluctant to let garage dismantle door trim & investigate further knowing tha these things rarely go back together as well as when leaving factory.
But as car new and I'm not 100% satisfied garage WILL get car back.
Any thoughts?

door trim is an easy off and on. Most of us have done it a number of times with speakers and stuff - no probs at all refitting correctly.

Probably best to demonstrate the rattle to the service manager and let them sort, but if you do have a go yourself these might help. Best tip is tape the end of any metal tools you use to remove interior trim:

Think these are 04+

Exploding diagrams - look like pre 02?

Mine was doing it this week, sound like the back of the door or the roof. Until I lifted the belt up and realised

Thanks, whata brill lot you are. Don't feel so pissed off now realise not likely to be a big deal.
Garage will be expected to sort, not me, as car so new.

Bit more lubricant into door lock area at week-end and driving car again tommorow - will advise

It's more usually a wiring loom that's rattling.

In the 'Lude, there was a tiny amount of play where the door lock release rod clips into the door handle.

Blob of silicon lubricant fixed it.

I had what I was convinced was a rattle from inside the driver's door. It sounded like something tapping on the door glass.

Took the service manager out for a spin and he immediately diagnosed it as a "creak" from the rubber door stops. A quick spray of silicon round the door bottom and rubber blocks and the noise was gone.

Ever since then, I've been a lot more circumspect when it comes to diagnosing faults on behalf of the experts ...
