Default Driven Anything Normal lately ?

Used to have a golf cab now an S :-)
But, I had to drive my girlfrind and her mates to the pub lastnight and OH MY GOD !!!!
Shes got a brandnew leon 1600 sx, not great but not shabby or so I used top think !
It wallows its gutless the steering wheel takes 1.5 turns to make the slightest of corners the clutch is none existant and the gearstick is akin to "stirring lumpy porridge" man the S is a luxury to drive...

end of rambling drivel off to n. should be fun its raining here !

Ah, the delights of rediscovering understeer & body roll whenever driving whichever FWD Tracey has.

My Dad's Toyota RAV4 turbodiesel.

Surprisingly good handling car - punchy engine, and ridiculously good fuel consumption.

The more compliant suspension made the car feel so much more settled on bumpy corners than the S, without too much body roll - I guess this is the compromise car makers spent

Periodically have to drive the works Avensis's/Avensi/Avensis (anyone know what the plural of Avensis is?)

Normally takes me the 5 miles to the motorway to:

1. Stop bouncing it off the rev limiter every time I accelerate
2. Stop trying to jam it into reverse instead of 6th
3. Stop trying to kick a hole in the bulkhead everytime I press the clutch
4. Trying to touch the door handles onto the floor on roundabouts
5. stop getting that 'Oh No!!!!' Feeling trying to haul it in as I head towards the roundabouts

Always feel a lot happier when I get back in the S

My wife has a Focus 1.6 Zetec. The Steering is excellent, it has tight well damped suspension and on a wet road, feels as quick through the bends as my 'S'.

Different matter in the dry though
