I'm debating about whether to buy a new headunit (Alpine 9850R) and a Modifry DCI, or just get the ipod link interface thingy available on e-bay... Has anyone got one of the latter? If so, are you pleased with it?

It would obviously be a lot cheaper and easier to just get the interface, but are there any other considerations I should take into account before deciding? I've read on here that the stock h/u is poor - is this still true of the 06/07 cars?

i bought one and i am very pleased with it. the cound quality is very good. it takes abit of getting use to, it has two modes, one where the h/u controls everything and it sees each playlist as cd or the mode which i prefer where buy i select the playlist via the ipod and press play, using the h/u controls to skip track. it also charges the ipod and remembers where it was up to if you turn ignition off. good value for money
